FAVORITE ANIME RELATIONSHIP (2011) - Shion & Nezumi (No. 6)
I think one of the most precious things in the world is the capacity that love and affection haves of changing people - and this is beautifully portrayed in No. 6. Is also showed that these changes can be negative in many ways, but even so, it brings people closer - it brought Shion and Nezumi closer. Shion gets mad whenever someone attempts to hurt Nezumi, and Nezumi himself breaks his own “coolness shell” to do whatever it takes to make Shion stay like Shion. They change each other, but they also don’t want the other one to change, since they just like each other the way they are. Their relationship also portrays the way that feelings can be huge and indefinable, turning into something unknown and scary - Nezumi was afraid of his feelings and the way he was being transformed because of it. But, more than anything, the way that their feelings can’t be covered just by a single word - love, friendship, passion, devotion - is amazing. Real feelings are like that. They’re too huge and complex to be labeled. Also, real feelings are able to remain strong even when people are apart - Shion made me believe it. And I also believe that it’ll bring both of them together again. Strong feelings have this kind of power.
